I am 100% positive that Bertha Florence Benbrook is my Great Grandmother. She was born Jan 26, 1878 in Newark, New Jersey. According to the 1880 Federal Census, a Bertha F. Benbrook, age 2, is shown living in a James T. and Mary E. Benbrook household. Brothers and sisters are Walter, William, and Anna. I haven't been able to verify that this 1880 Bertha F. Benbrook is from my lineage, but the birthdates, locations all match relatively straightforward. My Bertha Florence Benbrook's death certificate shows parents as unknown. Any chance you have some additional information from your searching that would match up and provide any confirmation around my circumstantial assumptions?
