Hi Carol,
I just came across your GenForum posting.
I am a descendant of Thomas Bangham's half-sister Tacy Bangham,
1776-1864, who married Abel Lodge, 1770-1839, in 1795. I presently am
writing a book that will have the title Abel Lodge and Tacy Bangham:
Ancestors and Descendants. It is the last volume in a series of six
regarding my father's ancestors. I have just finished a draft of the
Lodge section and am starting to write a draft of the Bangham portion.
I suppose you know by now that your Thomas Bangham was born on
19-3mo-1751 in Leominster, Herefordshire, and came to Pennsylvania with
his father, Humphrey, in the late 1760s after his mother died. He was the
only child that Humphrey brought with him.
I have quite a bit of information about all of the children of
Humphrey's second marriage, which was to Elizabeth Carey, but very
little about your Thomas and his descendants.
I wonder if you could provide me, for inclusion in the book, more
information about the son Thomas (Jr), b. 7 Sept. 1786, d. 28 July 1839,
m. Mary (Polly) Casterline. What are your sources of information for his
birth and death dates and the name of his wife? If you could identify for me
all of Thomas and Mary's children, with b., d., and m. dates, with
appropriate citation of sources, I certainly would appreciate it.
You also indicate you have knowledge of another Bangham family. This
may be one of Thomas Jr's brothers. Anything you might be able to tell me
about them also would be appreciated.
Let me know if you have any questions.
